Memories to Share
Bigfoot A1
Towards the beginning of this week, while I was doing my singing practice, my voice relaxed and I began easily hitting A#1. I had my vocal pitch app open on my phone as a means of visualizing the tune.
Hitting low notes is simply fun. I don’t know why.
Wanting to record the moment, I switched my active phone app to a voice recording app, hit record, then switched back to the vocal pitch visualizing app.
For a few minutes, I was happily going back and forth from A#1 to C2, even dropping down for a few seconds at a time to A1, and briefly hitting G#1.
My voice can only sustain those low notes for a few minutes before I start tightening up again; soon I could only hit C1.
I went to check my voice recording app so that I could have my record, only to discover that the voice recording app and the vocal pitch app can’t have access to the microphone at the same time. Shucks.
Above, I posted the three second recording of my voice that was captured between the time I started the recording and when I switched over to the vocal pitch app. I’m not sure what note that is.
For now, the elusive low notes that my voice can sometimes hit remain a mysterious creature hiding behind a tree in the forest.
Gen Z for Fifteen Minutes
Towards the end of the week, my students invited me to dress as one of them for a day. So, I came the next day wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. Since I was a bonefide member of the gen z clan, I was able to do a few things a millenial may typically struggle to do, such as “the griddy” and “gangnam style.”
