A Word on My Career History

My professional background and capabilities were focused on creative storytelling for the first decade of my career.

Most of my work focused on the visual arts. I had the opportunity to teach at Utah Valley and Brigham Young Universities.

Living off my earnings as an artist, I wrote a middle-grade novella, Westly: A Spider’s Tale. This book was picked up by Shadow Mountain, a national children’s book publisher.

In the second decade of my career, I branched out in the studies that now allow me to perform as a data-driven storyteller.

Through classes at institutions such as Carnegie Mellon and the University of Alaska, I explored statistics, programming, calculus, managing teams, finance, data analytics, and more.

My studies supported me in changing career fields into the technology industry. For three years I worked as a senior writer and junior programmer in the field of “blockchain,” commonly known as “Bitcoin.”

Time Out of My Career to Raise Children

This career evolution occurred while I was simultaneously establishing a home for my two children, born in 2017 and 2020.

During the Covid-19 pandemic my children needed me to be a stay-at-home father. This experience was wonderful. I wouldn’t trade it for anything, even though it has left a huge gap in my resume.

Where I Intend to Go From Here

With my children in preschool and kindergarten, I am rebooting my career.
